At KKL-JNF, we believe that a brighter future for Israel starts with educating children, teens, and young adults today. For decades, KKL-JNF has offered engaging, diverse educational programs connecting youth to our core values: Zionism, environmental preservation, nature, and the history and heritage of Israel and the Jewish people.
We place a special emphasis on helping and supporting students from Israel’s periphery and the Western Negev, ensuring they have equal access to quality education and opportunities; especially since October 7, 2023 and the ongoing conflict. By supporting scholarships, we help these students overcome financial barriers, allowing them to pursue their academic and personal goals.
We promote initiatives focused on sustainability and forest preservation, Israel’s flora and fauna, and other environmentally-focused projects. We are also proud of our nurturing frameworks for at-risk youth, our mentorship opportunities for young leaders, and our hands-on support centers for students who struggle academically, among our many educational projects.
We empower educators and their students with the tools and resources they need to ensure that the next generation is ready, both academically and socially, to build a sustainable, better reality for all Israelis. Inspiring and engaging young minds via our innovative curricula and real-world activities that encourage exploration and connection to Israel is central to KKL-JNF’s mission.

KKL-JNF Scholarships
KKL-JNF offers scholarships for students from Israel’s periphery, aiming to support higher education and foster equal opportunities for all. These scholarships are designed to alleviate the financial burden on students from underprivileged areas, allowing them to pursue their academic goals and contribute to their communities. By investing in education, KKL-JNF not only empowers individual students but also promotes regional development and social mobility, ensuring a brighter future for Israel’s periphery.
These days, KKL-JNF is providing extra support to students from the western Negev, especially given the challenges they face due to ongoing conflicts, helping them to overcome obstacles and continue their educational journey.
Field and Forest Centers
Our immersive learning centers, located in the heart of nature, provide a central base for schools, youth movements, and community groups to explore Israel’s nature reserves. These sites also offer outdoor lodging and camping for overnight stays.
Opportunities for At-Risk Youth
We provide expertly designed programs that offer youth from less privileged backgrounds or with life challenges a path to a brighter future. This includes one-on-one mentorship, job training for employment with KKL-JNF, and educational support.
KKL-JNF Houses of Excellence
Our Houses of Excellence offer high school students in Israel’s peripheral towns and communities personalized tutoring, tailored to their unique educational needs. These centers, which are located in communities with less access to educational resources, help students fulfill their ultimate educational potential. Along with academic support and tutoring, students learn critical life skills and build self-confidence.
Youth Leadership Initiatives
In our specialized training and mentorship programs, we provide a clear path for youth to become passionate leaders in the fields of Zionism and the environment. These initiatives nurture the next generation of KKL-JNF and Israel-focused professionals.
Resources for Educators
We provide a rich selection of ready-made assets and kits for schools, educational institutions, and youth movements, covering the environment, the history of Israel, Zionism, and more. These resources help educators create lesson plans and hands-on activities that engage their students and foster a love of Israel.
As the guardians of Israel’s nature reserves and forests for more than a century, KKL-JNF has long played a critical role in environmental education within Israeli society.
Over the years, our educational programs have expanded beyond environmentally-focused projects – we are proud to shape the next generation of Israelis with initiatives that include social, emotional, and academic growth.
By fostering a deep connection to Israel’s wild spaces, nurturing a love for the country’s historical heritage, and developing essential leadership skills, we’re developing strong future leaders who will build a better future for Israel, rooted in Zionism and love for the land.
Israel’s children and teens are facing unprecedented challenges among the ongoing war. KKL-JNF educational programs are providing positive opportunities and helping foster resilience within Israel’s kids, when it matters most.
Supporting KKL-JNF means securing a brighter future for Israel’s children and teens, strengthening Israeli society, and ensuring that future generations are connected to the country and its values.

Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael–Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) has been developing the land of Israel and strengthening the bond between the Jewish people and its homeland since 1901. KKL-JNF continues to meet the State of Israel’s changing needs and, together with its friends worldwide, create a better Israel through projects in forestry, environment, combating desertification and climate change, community development, water management, ecotourism, agricultural R&D, education and more.
KKL-JNF is a public-benefit company devoted to the sustainable development of Israel. It was established in 1901 at the 5th World Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland, for the purpose of acquiring land for Jewish settlement in Eretz Yisrael (at that time Ottoman Empire). Embarking on what was possibly the world’s first global Jewish “crowdfunding” campaign, KKL-JNF went on to purchase and develop 2.6 million dunams (260,000 ha.) for Hebrew agriculture and community development. These efforts essentially laid the foundations for what would become the State of Israel.
Today, KKL-JNF is a national institution, with over 120 years of experience in nation building under its belt. It has chapters all around the country, and hundreds of employees and volunteers from all sectors of Israeli society. KKL-JNF also acts under government mandate as Israel’s Forest Service. In this capacity, it manages some 300,000 acres (120,000 ha) of planted forests, woodlands, and open spaces.
We draw on our strong working relationships with local and national authorities, developed over decades, to spearhead and implement game changing initiatives in KKL-JNF’s three main spheres of activity, as embodied by the 3 colors on our logo: Blue for water management and technologies; Green for forestry, ecology, and climate change mitigation; and Brown for the cultivation of the land and the people living upon it.
Three spheres, one overarching goal: developing Israel to be the best that it can be.
KKL-JNF’s impact is evident in the vibrant patchwork of blues, greens, and browns making up the modern Israeli landscape: the reservoirs and rehabilitated streams; the field centers and recreation areas nestled amidst verdant forests; the delicate filagree of cycling and hiking trails, the gleaming R&D centers and innovation incubators, the brightly colored club houses for youth, and so much more.
True to its origins as a builder of bridges between Israel and the wider world, KKL-JNF operates in more than 55 countries and works in cooperation with various governmental and non-governmental bodies to further common environmental interests, especially in connection to climate change.
