Last month, 100 Ukrainian Jewish child refugees were airlifted from the Romanian border to safety in Israel. KKL-JNF, which is hosting them in Nes Harim, has since embraced them as family. Now we’re gearing up to give them the Passover experience of their lives – but we need your help.
Last month KKL-JNF welcomed over 100 children fleeing the war in Ukraine, providing them with food, necessities, and a safe, pleasant place to stay, right here in Israel. Now we’re like family!
With Passover just around the corner, we turn to you to help us provide these kids with the full, joyous Pesach experience that they so need and deserve.
Your donation will enable us to take them on trips, hold extra-special activities, and overall make their stay here a healing, positive and reassuring experience.
To these kids, your contribution will mean the world.
AWRC, established in cooperation with Tel Hai Academic College, fulfills a critical role in preserving regional wildlife and the natural ecosystem. It is the only wildlife clinic in Northern Israel, and the only center in the entire country with facilities dedicated exclusively to helping wildlife reacclimatize to living back in the wild. It provides first-response, lifesaving treatment, care and rehabilitation to over 350 birds, mammals and reptiles a year.
AWRC facilities include a clinic, which was built with the support of JNF USA, three acclimatization compounds, and a nursery for baby birds. The nursery operates during the breeding season, which lasts from March to July, and is designed to serve young animals that have fallen from the nest or have been orphaned, and need close feeding and care until they become independent. Cutting-edge rehabilitation methods from around the world are being implemented for the first time in Israel, right here. The ARWC has special enclosures that imitate the natural habitats of songbirds and birds of prey. These compounds allow the birds to practice flying and hunting skills in a monitored environment as they regain their strength and independence, significantly increasing their chances of survival back in nature.
Our dedicated specialists and volunteers work around the clock – setting the broken wing of an eagle, feeding a baby owl, or operating on a stone marten, to mention just a few examples. Devotion, love and compassion are abundant, but resources are low. To carry out this important mission, AWRC needs animal food (some is grown in-house); medical devices and equipment (from X-rays machines and scalpels to bandages and syringes); cages; netting; heating lamps and more.
Join KKL-JNF and the dedicated AWCR team in saving the precious lives of animals, birds and reptiles that are injured on their journey of survival. Your donation will help conserve wildlife in the region and maintain a sustainable natural ecosystem.
